Driven by her love for psychology and her passion to serve, Brigitte Madan is determined to help those around her.

Upon graduating high school in 2013 she was accepted and awarded a full academic scholarship to The Honors College at Miami Dade College (MDC) to pursue an Associates of Arts in Psychology. While in the Honors College not only did Brigitte focus on her academics, but also ventured abroad to countries like Nicaragua and Austria. Despite the differences between a mission trip to help children in Managua and an academic seminar to understand globalization in Salzburg, both experiences provided a unique global perspective that shaped her views on cultural differences in the field of psychology.

Recently, she graduated with highest honors from MDC and was awarded the Carolina Covenant Scholarship to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to the Covenant Scholarship Brigitte was awarded scholarships from The Hispanic Scholarship Fund and The Coca-Cola Foundation in recognition of her academic achievements and community service initiatives.

She is also a writer and recipient of the Brave Life Grant (sponsored by Keds). With help from this grant Brigitte founded her non-profit organization Beauty for Ashes Seminars, Inc., a series of workshops that focuses on improving the participants’ body image and self-esteem.

She aspires to earn her Psy. D in Clinical Psychology in order to possess the knowledge and skills to empower those in need. She believes the true work is not done from behind the desk, but rather amongst people —the community that surrounds her.
